Well, things are different for us than it was for our
parents. Kids younger than me are having babies, kids my age are shooting up schools and killing classmates. When is it going to stop?
When are our parents and adults in this world going to stop and see that they need compassion. They need to care about others. If adults
don't care, it is going to be pretty difficult for us kids to care. If all of the 2.2 children of every family make a stance, the adults will
listen. But we need to do it together. The greyhounds need us. For every greyhound that gets a home, it is possible that another pound puppy
dies. Yet these adults keep breeding greyhounds. They want to make money and when the greyhounds don't they die.
Please pick out a governor on the page of Racing States and write him a letter. Then have 10 of your friends do the same thing. And have ten of their
friends do the same thing. It will spread. This is the best way you can help speak for the greyhounds.
Also, if your parents go to the tracks to bet, ask them not to. It is adults who are letting the greyhounds die. Please help me educate the adults.
Thanks and if you would like more information please e-mail me .

They put me in a trailer and sent me on my way
I had twenty-nine others to keep me company on that day.
Over the desert and through the mountains we went
Without food or water, we were sent
There were three ladies and just one man
And when we met them, they really let us jam.
They took us out of the trailer two by two
This was just the start to my home with you.
The news people were also there
And our story, they did share.
We were sprayed for ticks and fleas
Would we ever be cage free?
They shoved some pills down my throat
Ugh, they really tasted gross.
I got a new collar and muzzle
Then from a lady, I got a little cuddle
Then that lady took me to her house
I really liked her daughter's mouse
The lady also had two sons
More hounds-I'm not the only one!
There were some crates all lined up in a row
I don't like crates-She'll soon know
She walked me all around her home
Every room I was shown
In one room, she kept her cats
One hissed at me and gave me a slap
The lady patted the cat and said "it's ok."
She looked at me and said "The cats will stay".
Now I look at those cats and cry
Next time that cat might hit me in the eye.
I met the cats, I met the dogs
I even met lizards, snakes, fish and frogs!
That night I was fed rice and cottage cheese
This was such a long day for me.
I wanted to curl up and take a nap
Oh, there's a soft looking mat
One hound beat me to that spot
Do I challenge him? I think not
There are pillows all over the floor
There is even one by the door.
Those people kept working all around
They even stepped over every hound!
They turned on the TV and grabbed some chips
Then they looked around for a place to sit.
Two shared the sofa with the hounds
The other people sat on on the ground.
One sat and scratched behind my ears
I haven't felt that good in years.
I never knew people could be so cool
Some I knew, were very cruel.
Even though my early years were rough
I'm glad that lady showed me the good stuff.
Eventually, I'll have a family of my own
But I'll always be thankful for that lady's home.
