Idaho
Governor Dirk Kempthorne
State Capitol Boise, ID 83720
208-334-2100

*Governor Kempthorne started his term as Governor in January of this year. During his first legislative season, he overturned a 1996 law banning simulcasting of greyhound races (live racing in another state that is televised into Idaho) Live racing was banned in 1996 after a trainer came forward and told the press about cocaine parties and electrocutions of greyhounds at these parties. There was also a pile of greyhounds found in the county landfill. The simulcasting was to end on July 1, 1999. Kempthore apparently has the "NIMBY" (not in my backyard) mentality. It is ok for other states to race and abuse greyhounds but Idaho is not doing it LIVE. Idaho is just televising it. So you know some of the greyhound people mentalities (They rank right up there with Idaho's governor) the following e-mail was received from Brian Lee, Project Manager from the Portland, Oregon area. "Well, Governor Kempthore has apparently SIGNED the Simulcast bill, HB 1115 Now, we can watch and wager on Greyhound Racing! Wheeeee hee hee!!!" Brian Lee Project Manager"
In response to KFG's web site, Mr. Lee sent the following response "Pretty good! Another thing for 'kids' to rebel against. And just wait 'til those kids get to gambling age...by that time, it's turn on the TV, log online and start betting." Because of Mr. Lee's complaint to our server, we have had to remove his e-mail address. It is nice to know that teenagers can act more mature than he does!
Please write to these heads of states and let them know that you are disgusted with them.
